The hospital complex was built in the La Cluse district during the period between the wars. The construction of a new University Medical Centre, planned in six stages, was approved around 1970. The project was suspended towards the end of the 1980s, while the building permit for the fifth stage was finally granted in 2006.

The building is composed of five basement levels and twelve regular floors with an extensive variety of uses. The construction of this project in the heart of the city and on an already partially constructed hillside site was a challenge.

Our office was involved from the project design stage through to the supervision of work on the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration and control installations.

Description

Our office was involved from the project design stage through to the supervision of work on the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration and control installations.

Services

The site required particular attention:

  • Regarding the air-conditioning, as it hosts rooms with different uses: laboratories (class P1 to P3), offices, auditorium...

  • Refrigeration: The new buildings were connected to the CMU's iced-water circuit and new systems were installed to meet the technical refrigeration requirements.
